As I navigated the corporate world, I quickly realised that networking is fundamental to my professional and career development. It has influenced my trajectory in unexpected ways.

Reflecting on my own journey

After my tenure at the U.S. multinational company, I joined LinkedIn and fully embraced networking as a cornerstone of my professional development. I soon realised that it extends far beyond job searching; it serves as a foundation for ongoing growth and opportunity.

I made it a priority to nurture relationships with colleagues across various organisations, effectively creating a personal advisory board. This diverse network, encompassing different industries and roles, has continually challenged my perspectives, and opened doors to new possibilities.

Since stepping away from my last full-time corporate gig three years ago, I have organised biannual dinners to reconnect with former colleagues from that company. If I can find an excuse to do so, I create a networking group!
